On the morning of October 17th, 2020, Cao Thang Technical College (CTTC) solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of KOSEN - Mechatronics Class.
Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, there was Dr. Nguyen The Hieu, Deputy Director, Department of Personnel Organization; on behalf of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, there was Dr. Nguyen Chi Truong, Director of the Vocational Skills Department; on the KOSEN organization, there was Prof. Hayashida Eiji, Director of KOSEN Vietnam office; and representatives of Japanese businesses: Mr. ARIGA Masahiro, Head of Business Networking Department of JCCH and also General Director of FORVAL VIETNAM Co., Ltd; Mr. Henry Tan Pham, CEO of Nidec Sankyo Company; Mr. Gerald Ho, General Director of SMC Vietnam; On behalf of CTTC, there was Dr. Dao Khanh Du, former Principal of the school; Dr. Le Dinh Kha, Rector of the school; M.Sc. Truong Quang Trung, Vice rector; and representatives of partners, staff and lecturers with 174 first-year students majoring in Mechatronics - KOSEN class 2020-2023.
Since 2018, with the support of the National Institute of Technology of Japan (NIT), professors who are lecturers at Ariake School have visited and worked with CTTC. Board of Rector has chosen Mechatronics Engineering Technology Program to deploy and apply the KOSEN model. Faculty of Mechatronics Department and experts from Ariake School have exchanged, discussed and agreed on a new training program called KOSEN – Mechatronics, which will be implemented from October 2020 at CTTC. Students taking KOSEN – Mechatronics class are equipped with appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes according to the core program of KOSEN. Graduates from this program are supported to visit, practice and work at Japanese enterprises in Vietnam. Students can transfer to universities in Japan when they have N2 Japanese language proficiency.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Le Dinh Kha, Rector of CTTC expressed deeply thankfulness to the professors of Kosen partner school for supporting the faculty of Mechatronics department in building the KOSEN Mechatronics program, he emphasized that “Mechatronics Engineering Technology Class of 2020-2023 is the first class selected to train under this model, they will be fully equipped with knowledge, skills and attitudes; the ability to think and solve problems; applying the knowledge in the best way to meet the increasing requirements of businesses, especially multinational enterprises from Japan”.
During the seminar, the representatives of the KOSEN program, the Japanese business and CTTC leaders realized that the students who approach this program will have high job opportunities at Japan companies in Viet Nam as well as professional work opportunities in Japan. Through the seminar, representatives of Japanese businesses reminded the new students that they need to have a good attitude, have an industrial style, and equip themselves with foreign languages to be ready to enter the global labor market. Dr. Nguyen Chi Truong, Director of the Vocational Skills Department also reminded the students to study and practice hard about vocational skills to participate in the International Mechatronics Contest 2023 in France.
On the occasion of the opening ceremony, Mr. TANIGUCHI Isao, President of the National Institute of Technology and Engineering of Japan (NIT) sent a congratulatory letter to CTTC. There was a passage that: “The KOSEN model is currently attracting attention from all over the world as a distinctive Japanese education system in training excellent practical engineers who have the important role in modern society which is gradually changing from an information society to a creative society with new values. Graduates of KOSEN schools in Japan are expected to play an active role as "Social Doctors", i.e. those with a doctor-like mission to solve society's problems. We hope that all students who study and graduate from this KOSEN Model course will become social doctors who can solve social problems and contribute to the developing of Viet Nam.”
